ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven Junior Naval Architect to join our design team.
The successful candidate will need to adapt well to working across multiple disciplines alongside highly experienced colleagues, and must show good problem-solving skills.
The role also requires self-initiative and a positive attitude towards new challenges, driven by new tasks and continuously developing scenarios in the marine industry.
The successful candidate will be based in either our UK or Greek office, and will also be required to travel worldwide based on project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Naval Architect will undergo an induction period in a series of disciplines, including but not limited to:

• Stability

• Hydrodynamics and seakeeping

• Structural design and FEM

• Understanding and implementation of Classification Society rules

• Rules and regulations from Flag authorities and other recognised bodies

• Escape and evacuation

• Fire and safety

This induction will be carried out by working alongside experienced designers on live design projects. Within 6 months, the Junior Naval Architect will be assigned independent tasks based on project requirements.
The role will also involve work on internal development projects, which may include but will not be limited to:

• Writing technical calculation spreadsheets

• Writing macros and calculation routines

• Developing and maintaining company databases

• Developing and maintaining standard technical and administrative procedures

QUALIFICATIONS – Requirements

• Minimum BEng, preferably a Master's degree, in Naval Architecture from a recognised university

• Strong aptitude for software used for calculation, 2D drawing and 3D modelling

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry will be considered an advantage

• Ability to handle client and colleague requests in a professional and friendly manner

• Ideally, experienced in and passionate about vessel design and the maritime industry

• Proficient in business English, both verbal and written
