ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly motivated and strongly driven JUNIOR NAVAL ARCHITECT, to join our Design Team.
The successful Candidate will have to demonstrate strong adaptation to work on multiple disciplines with highly experienced people and must show good skills in problem solving.
Moreover, the job requires self-initiative and good attitude towards constant new challenges mostly driven by new tasks and continuously developing scenarios in the Marine Industry.
The successful Candidate will be either based in our UK or Greek office, but will also be required to travel worldwide based on projects requirements.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
The Junior Naval Architect will be subject to a period of induction in a series of disciplines including but not limited to:
Stability
Hydrodynamics and Sea keeping
Structural Design and FEM
Classification Society rules understanding and implementation
Rules and Regulations from Flag Authorities and other recognised Bodies
Escape and Evacuation
Fire and Safety
The above induction will be carried out by siding experienced designers in actual Design Projects and within 6 months the Junior Naval Architect will be assigned independent tasks based on project requirements.
Within his/her work in Leadship, there will also be requirement to work on internal development projects which can include but will not be limited to:
Writing technical calculation spreadsheet
Writing Macros or calculation routines
Develop/maintain company databases
Develop/Maintain standard technical and administrative procedures
QUALIFICATIONS – Requirements
Minimum BEng and preferably Master Level Degree in Naval Architecture from a Major Recognised University
The role demands strong predisposition in the use of Software for calculation, 2D drawings and 3D modelling.
Proven similar work for at least 1-2 years in the Maritime industry, will be an advantage
Ability to handle clients' and colleagues’ requests in a professional and friendly manner.
Ideally experienced and passionate about vessel design and the maritime industry.
Proficient in Business English. The role requires verbal and written communication in English.
